My photographic art is interpreted at three stages. Each requires that I step back and view the art in a different way at each stage.
The first is when I seek or see a subject, or experience a moment. I put a lot of thought and feeling into what it is about the experience I want to capture, and what I want the image to say. I may capture many angles and compositions of one subject or theme.
Only the best or most suitable images are selected. Chosen images are then individually worked, enhanced, perfected to create a representation or interpretation of the subject. The purpose is to either evoke the feeling or experience of the moment, or create a new vision or expression.
As a artist, I love to create tangible art as well as the virtual. Only a fraction of my work do I choose to create as a final print, and an even smaller number as a limited edition. I make careful choices on the type of material, and optimal size for each subject. Some prints are on textured art stock, some on photo luster material, others on canvas as gallery wraps.
